  • Profile: ACR - Austrian Cooperative Research is an umbrella organisation for RTOs and concentrates on five R&D areas; one of them has a biotechnological focus: "Food quality & safety". Three member institutes out of 18 provide services in this field: Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt (LVA), OFI, and Versuchsanstalt für Getreideverarbeitung - Österreichische Mühlenvereinigung (VG-ÖMV). They deal with the entire food supply chain, from raw materials and processing to transport, storage, and distribution.
  • R&D: Development and advancement of foodstuffs, production technologies and processes, new packaging materials, risk analyses and measurements to secure quality assurance and food safety as well as food law. Consideration of the entire food chain – from resources to processing through to packaging, transport, storage, and distribution.
